Councilman Engel To Host St. Louis Regional Light-Rail Planner

Louisville, KY - Louisville Metro Councilman Robin Engel will host a round table discussion and luncheon this Tuesday, August 16 at 12:30 p.m. concerning light- rail transit systems. The event will take place in the first floor conference room at City Hall. Engel will be joined at the luncheon by Donna L. Day, Division Manager of the Transportation Corridor Improvement Group, East-West Gateway Council of Governments in St. Louis, MO. The Council is responsible for light-rail planning in the St. Louis regional area. They have completed five light-rail corridor studies since 1999. The region currently has about 40 miles of light-rail line in operation, plus another 8 miles under construction.
Ms. Day will also testify at the Metro Council Transportation/Public Works Committee meeting, to be held Tuesday, August 16 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
