Councilman Kevin Kramer will host a trolley tour for District 11 residents on Saturday, June 17, 2006. This tour will start at 8:00 am at the McMahan Fire Station (4318 Taylorsville Road.). During the tour Councilman Kramer will lead a group of 25 constituents through District 11 and in a new twist, the trolley will add Downtown Louisville to its itinerary.

Kramer initiated the idea of a town hall meeting on wheels last year and the tours were met with much enthusiasm, as more than 100 residents participated (each trolley has been fully-booked with residents). Saturday’s tour will visit District 11 sites like Skyview Park, Buechel Little League Fields, Jeffersontown City Hall, Hurstbourne Parkway, and the Buechel Train Depot. The tour will then move to downtown locations such as the two debated arena sites, City Hall, Waterfront Park, Main Street and even lunch at the popular 4th Street Live.

"I am very excited about this year's trolley tours, they will highlight the exciting things happening both in our surrounding community of District 11 and in our downtown. For residents that do not get downtown often, this tour will allow them a chance to see the tremendous development taking place in our city." - Metro Council President Kevin Kramer

The free “trolley tour” will last approximately 5 hours, will include a short lunch, and is limited to 25 participants. District 11 Residents interested in participating are encouraged to call Councilman Kramer’s office at 574-1111 or to RSVP for the tour. A second tour will be offered in September for those unable to book their spot on the June tour.  Residents who did not participate last year will be given first opportunity to take the tour.

The trolley is expected to arrive at City Hall at approximately 11am and will stop for lunch at 4th Street Live at approximately 11:45am.
