The “Building the Bridges Coalition” has been invited to appear before the next meeting of the Metro Council’s Transportation Committee on Monday, September 15th at 5:00pm.
“The Committee would like to hear an update on the current timetable for construction of the two proposed bridges for Downtown and the East End of Metro Louisville.” says Councilwoman Tina Ward- Pugh (D-9), who chairs the committee.
The Coalition has been invited to make a presentation during the meeting. Items to be discussed include the history, role and funding sources of the Coalition as well as how Indiana factors into the process.
“As we review the economic factors when it comes to road construction in the area as well as the sluggish economy and rising prices of gas, now is a good time to learn what is next on the Coalition’s agenda relating to the bridges project,” says Ward-Pugh. “It is my hope that the Coalition will welcome this chance to talk with us about the realistic future of the bridges project.”
The Transportation Committee will meet in Council Chambers, 601 West Jefferson Street. All meetings are carried live on Metro TV, Insight Cable Channel 25.
