Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh announces another Lexington Road Work Day on Saturday, July 14th as part of the continuing sustainability efforts in the Ninth District.
“More than five years ago we focused our attention on restoring the environmental integrity of Lexington Road betweenTop Hill and Cross Hill Roads. Anyone who travels that road can see the difference we have made, not only to enhance a major thoroughfare, but do it with sustainability in mind,” says Ward-Pugh.
The volunteers will maintain the area with weeding, watering and any other landscaping work that may be required. With the recent hot weather volunteers will start work at 8:00 am and will finish around 11:00 am. Bags, gloves and water will be provided onsite.
“Lexington Road is one of first components of our Green Triangle program. Part of the success of this program is making sure we maintain the environment we have restored,” says Ward-Pugh.
