Louisville – Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh announces the Annual Ninth District Community Forum is set for Tuesday, October 1st and this year there is a special focus on helping the United Crescent Hill Ministries.
“This is an opportunity to update the district on programs and it’s a chance to ask questions about issues affecting our area and have those questions answered,” says Ward-Pugh. “We are also hoping to help the United Crescent Hill Ministries with donations of food as we enter a very important time of the year.”
The Councilwoman has invited two special guests to the forum: Major Mark Fox, the new LMPD 5th Division Major and Mr. Dirk Gowin, Metro Public Works. Major Fox will be on hand to acquaint himself with residents of the district and there will be updates in crime prevention, the pilot traffic circles and Pace Car Program
The Fall Community Forum will take place at the St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Avenue beginning at 6:30pm.
Residents are invited to donate food for the United Crescent Hill Ministries (UCHM) Food Pantry. Items needed include: Canned vegetables: green beans, peas, corn, potatoes. Canned meats: tuna, beef stew, spaghetti and meat balls. Canned fruits: peaches, pears, applesauce. Spaghetti and spaghetti sauce. Peanut butter and Jelly.
“As we approach the holiday season, the Ministries will see more need in our community which is why these food donations will go a long way to assist them in meeting that need.” says Ward-Pugh. “So come out and learn more about what’s going on in the district and take the time to help those in need.”
