Public Health and Wellness Offers Free Diabetes Classes

Individuals interested in learning about and managing diabetes are invited to attend a series of four free classes being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. Classes begin Tuesday, February 1 at the East Government Center, 200 Juneau Drive.
Classes are free and attendance at the entire series of four classes is encouraged. All classes begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Phone 574-6663 for reservations or for more information. Class size is limited so please call to make a reservation. The class schedule is as follows:

High and Low Blood Sugar
Class 2: Diet and Exercise February 8
Class 3: Diabetes Pills & Insulin February 15

The Department of Public Health and Wellness also hosts monthly “mini-classes” for people with diabetes and their families or caretakers. The class meets the second Thursday of each month from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Douglass Community Center at 2305 Douglass Blvd. Phone 574-6663 for more information.
