Metro Council members Rick Blackwell (D-12), Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13) and Bob Henderson (D-14) will once again join Louisville Metro Police at the Caritas Medical Mall to host National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4th.
“This event has grown to be an important connection between residents and those who keep us safe,” says Blackwell. “I want to encourage everyone to come out and learn what officers are doing in our area to fight crime.”
The LMPD Third Division National Night Out celebration will take place at the Caritas Mall at the Dixie Manor Shopping Center on Dixie Highway from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
There will be several displays including the Hostage Negotiating Team, SWAT, crime prevention and METH awareness. There will also be activities for children in the parking lot of the Mall.
“This information shows how officers work in the field in resolving problems with domestic violence and meth labs” says Henderson. “The public can learn some valuable information to assist police.
The event will once again feature a health fair with free information and screenings for those who would like to live a healthier lifestyle.
“I want to commend the organizers for offering the health fair,” says Welch. “As the national debate on health care continues, this is a perfect opportunity to learn more about prevention and better choices.”
