Lisa Tobe Named Director of Center for Health Equity

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (October 7, 2008) Dr. Adewale Troutman, director of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, recently announced Lisa Tobe, MPH as the new director of the Center for Health Equity.
As the director Tobe will oversee programs and projects that collaborate between public health, communities and organizations to work to shape policy to eliminate health disparities as well as the social and economic barriers to good health.
Before returning to Kentucky, Tobe was the founder and director of Women’s Mountain Passages a non profit that works with women and youth in Quincy, Calif. She has also worked with the Kentucky Commission on Women, the California Department of Health Services and the Plumas County Public Health Agency.
Tobe graduated with a BS in Creative Writing from DePauw University and obtained her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina.
The mission of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness is to protect, preserve and promote the health, environment and well-being of the people of Louisville.
