Ninth District Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh will join students, parents and other volunteers for the Barrett Fall Beautification Day from 9 am. until noon on Saturday at Barrett Traditional School, 2561 Grinstead Dr.
Volunteers will clean up trash, debris and weeds in the area around the school. Brightside will provide plastic bags, gloves and some tools. Heine Bros. Coffee will donate coffee, and the McDonald's restaurant on lower Brownsboro Road will provide breakfast for volunteers.
This fifth annual clean up was initiated by former Alderwoman Ward-Pugh after S. Galt Avenue Mayor Victory Bisig contacted her about cleaning up the campus. The event continues to grow each year.
