Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton encourages residents of District 5 who may be concerned about the possibility of foreclosure to attend a free workshop by the Louisville Urban League.
“If some families are worried about foreclosure in the future, the workshop may provide some answers and help avoid losing their home,” says Hamilton.
The Foreclosure Prevention Workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 24th at French Plaza, 234 Amy Avenue beginning at 6:00pm.. It begins at 6:00pm. It is free and open to the public.
The Urban League is bringing in Certified Foreclosure Intervention Counselors to help homeowners with repayment plans, refinance options, sale options and loan modifications.
The Counselors will also provide information on applying for financial assistance. Up to $5,000 may be available from Louisville Metro for qualified applicants.
“In this day and age, everyone should learn what they can and get the help they need if they are facing a foreclosure situation,” says Hamilton.
For more information about the workshop, call the Louisville Urban League at .502-566-3362.
