Metro Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh is seeking volunteers who would like to help focus some attention on October as Breast Cancer Awareness month with the No. 9 Pink Out.
“We are going to spotlight the 9th District along Frankfort Avenue during the month of October. Volunteers are needed to help install lights along Frankfort Avenue,” says Ward-Pugh. “These volunteer efforts will help show others the importance of fighting this terrible disease.”
The Councilwoman is partnering with GE-Appliances and Lighting who generously donated the pink lights to be used along the corridor. The lights will be distributed by volunteers beginning on Wednesday, September 29th through the weekend. More than 1500 lights will be distributed.
“We want to have a special lighting ceremony on Thursday, September 30th. It is my hope that we will accomplish making this an annual event and that it will spread throughout the entire 9th District to all businesses and residences in the coming years,” says Ward-Pugh.
If you would like to volunteer to distribute lights, please contact 574-1109 or email Kyle Ethridge at email@example.com.
