Want to get in better shape and live a healthier lifestyle? Wondering how to start? Residents of District 24 will find the answer to those questions by “Moving with Madonna” on Tuesday July 19th at 6:30pm at Blue Lick Park on Mud Lane.

Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D-24) has invited experts from the Metro’s Public Health and Wellness Department and the American Heart Association will be on hand to answer your question and get everyone started in the right direction.

“I was asking these same questions a year ago,” says Flood. “I have made walking a part of my daily routine and I have never felt better. I want everyone to feel as great as I do.”

Residents will see how easy it is to take a simple walk in their neighborhood or in Okolona Park, Blue Lick Park and Robertson Run in District 24. McNeeley Lake Park and the walking path at the Southwest Government Center are also nearby.

“If you don’t do it for yourself, then think about your children and grandchildren,” says Flood. “If we hope to change the unhealthy habits of children, then as parents and grandparents, we can start by setting a good example.”
