Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5) will participate in a panel discussion on the need for planning in Black Neighborhoods this Saturday as part of the University of Louisville’s Saturday Academy.
“When you look at the progress we have made in the Shawnee Neighborhood with the Weed and Seed program, I am happy to help other neighborhoods plan for the future,” says Hamilton.
The theme of the panel discussion is “Failure to plan is a plan for failure: Black neighborhoods and Where we go from here?” It will take place at 12:45pm to 2:00pm in the DuValle Education Center Cafeteria; (enter from the rear parking lot) 3610 Bohne Avenue. Admission is free.
“Many of our neighborhoods leaders should understand that change is possible to make our communities a better place to live,” says Hamilton. “It takes dedication and the desire to work together for long lasting benefits.”
Joining Councilwoman Hamilton will be Manfried Reid, Housing Authority of Louisville and Cathy Hinko, Metropolitan Housing Coalition. Admission to the event is free.
