For Immediate release:
Councilwoman Judith Green is encouraging all homeowners and residents of District 1 to come out for a special meeting with MSD on Thursday, May 10th.
“If you have had a major concern about sanitary sewers and run off water during a rain storm, this meeting will be a chance to hear what MSD plans are for a new program,” says Green.
On Thursday, May 10th the first of a series of meeting will get underway to explain MSD’s Project WIN, Waterway Improvements Now. The meeting is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the NIA Center 2900 West Broadway.
Project WIN will involve substantial investment over the next 18 years. During rain storms, the sewers become overloaded with rainwater and discharge the combined water and sewage into local streams and the Ohio River.
MSD will explain the program and how it affects property owners.
“I know many people ask why things happen with any government agency,” says Green. “This is a chance to find out answers and express an opinion about an issue of public health.”
Dr. Green will also attend the last public meeting in the series on June 11th at the Southwest Government Center, 7219 Dixie Highway.
