Louisville, KY; Metro Councilman Ken Fleming (District 7), Councilman Kelly Downard (District 16) and Councilman Glen Stuckel (District 17) will be joined by representatives from St. Matthews, Graymoor-Devondale, Windy Hills, and Woodlawn Park as well as Brightside at a ribbon cutting ceremony for four new Brightsites on the medians at the Westport Road Interchange.
The Ribbon Cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 13 on the north east median of the interchange. Persons attending the ceremony are encouraged to park within the Windhurst Acres neighborhood which is located on Washburn Avenue on the north side of Westport Road.
“This is a perfect example of a successful public-private partnership. I appreciate Hall Contracting’s commitment to the beautification of the area, the suburban cities who are taking measures to ensure these Brightsites are maintained to the standards of the area and to Brightside for making this project a priority for the community.”- Councilman Ken Fleming, District 7
The Westport Road Interchange improvements are the result of the cooperation of Councilman Ken Fleming, Kelly Downard and Glen Stuckel who secured funding for irrigation in the previous year’s budget along with a generous contribution by Hall Contracting which funded the planting materials.
In addition to the contributions of the Metro Council and Hall Contracting, the suburban cities of St. Matthews, Graymoor-Devondale, Windy Hills and Woodlawn Park have agreed to contribute to the annual maintenance of the Brightsite.
In event of rain, the ribbon cutting will be held under the Interchange at the same time.
