Louisville – Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh will once again give children and parents a chance to have some fun and enjoy the beginning of a new school year in Jefferson County when she hosts the 14th Annual Back to School Block Party in the Ninth District on Friday, September 6th.
“Everyone needs a little fun as they move from the end of summer into a new school year,” says Ward-Pugh, “We always enjoy throwing this party for all the families in the area.”
The Back to School Block Party will be held at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center, 201 Reservoir Avenue from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The Back to School Block party offers FREE swimming, pizza, cookies and door prizes. The food and refreshments will be available until they run out, so make sure you get there early!
Parents will also have a chance to get a free child ID kit made by Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD). LMPD officers of the Fifth Division have been partnering with Ward-Pugh for many years at the Back to School Block Party.
“We also need volunteers to come out and help us make this a fun and successful night for families,” says Ward-Pugh.
