Louisville, KY – Metro Councilman Stuart Benson and Kentucky State Treasurer Todd Hollenbach are working to locate some people who may not know they have a financial treasure waiting for them. On Thursday, September 29 between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., District 20 Volunteers/Treasure Finders will attempt to locate neighbors who may have unclaimed property or money they are entitled to but are unaware that such treasures need to be claimed.

District 20 Metro Councilman Stuart Benson is looking for volunteers to make phone calls to residents of the district who have been identified as having unclaimed money in the amount of $100 or more. According to the Office of the State Treasurer, District 20 residents have approximately $1,676,000 in unclaimed properties.

Residents who receive a phone call during the District 20 Treasure Hunters Event can come to Jeffersontown Fire Department Station 1 (10540 Watterson Trail) to begin the paperwork necessary to claim their “treasure”.
If you would like to volunteer for the 20th District “Treasurer Finders Kentucky” event on Thursday, September 29th contact the Councilman’s office at 574-1120 or email angela.webster@louisvilleky.gov. For more information about the program go to: http://www.treasury.ky.gov/Treasure+Finders.htm
