Louisville -- This holiday season, over 150 children ages 13 and under will receive an unexpected surprise as a result of a partnership between three local charities.
Through the “St. Stephen STARS” program, children living in the 40210, 40211 and 40212 zip codes will be receiving new clothes for Christmas. The “STARS” program is funded by a generous $10,000 grant from Kosair Charities and the Damascus Temple Foundation and is administered by the St. Stephen Life Center, Inc.
“Children in our community have basic essential needs, yet some go without this time of year. My wife, Michelle, and I are proud and thankful to be able to partner with these organizations to provide our community’s children with these necessities,” said Councilman David James (D-6). “This partnership will definitely make a difference for these children during this special time of year.”
The event will take place on Saturday, December 22nd at 8:00pm at the St. Stephen Family Life Center Gymnasium.
“The “STARS” program exemplifies what the giving season is all about, and Kosair Charities is appreciative and honored to work with St. Stephen’s and the Damascus Temple to show the kids of West Louisville that we really care,” said Randy Coe, President of Kosair Charities.
Representatives from the three organizations will participate in a shopping excursion for youth participants selected for the program tomorrow, Thursday, December 13th at 10:30 am. Shopping will take place at the K-Mart located at 4915 Dixie Highway.
