Citizen Input Sought on Insight/Time Warner

Tuesday November 20, 2012

Town Hall meetings set for Nov. 28 & 29

Four “Town Hall” public meetings have been scheduled to allow citizens to comment on the service provided in Louisville by Insight/Time Warner. The public sessions on Nov. 28 and 29 are part of a comprehensive needs assessment being conducted by Louisville Metro Government which is in the process of developing a new franchise agreement for cable television and related services.

Residents of the Louisville Metro franchise area are invited to attend town hall meetings. This area includes all of Louisville and Jefferson County, except for the incorporated second through sixth class cities. Non-subscribers of Insight/Time-Warner are also encouraged to attend. Meetings are scheduled throughout Louisville, with one each at Metro Hall downtown, East Government Center, South Central Government Center and the Southwest Government Center.

At the meetings, representatives will educate residents about cable franchise renewal and the needs assessment process and seek input on a range of cable-related issues, including:

  • Overall satisfaction with Insight/Time Warner service, including picture and sound quality, encounters with outages and degraded signals and installation and service response satisfaction,
  • Viewership and satisfaction with the local public and governmental access channels – Insight/Time Warner Public Access Channel 98 and MetroTV Channel 25,
  • The need for current, recent and emerging cable television services, such as high-definition, video-on-demand, interactive television and other similar services
  • Internet access and use.
