Louisville Loop Public Meeting
Friday March 30, 2012
Louisville Metro Parks invites the public to attend an initial meeting for the master planning of the Fairdale to Floyds Fork section of the Louisville Loop, Monday, April 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way, Louisville KY.
The purpose of this Project Initiation meeting is to introduce this new area of study for the Louisville Loop and gather initial public input on the project.
It is the first of four public meetings planned for this project, scheduled through early 2013, which will ultimately result in a recommended alignment for the Louisville Loop from National Turnpike at Fairdale Road to Floyds Fork near Bardstown Road. Getting public input is a critical step in analyzing the potential locations of this shared use path.
The meeting will begin with an Open House from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the project presentation from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and concluding with additional Open House and discussion from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
When complete, the Louisville Loop will be a 100-mile shared-use path encircling Louisville, linking existing and new parks and neighborhoods to civic, business, retail and recreational attractions, while promoting healthier lifestyles by providing safe and accessible opportunities for walking, jogging, and cycling.
