One of Metro Louisville’s most treasured neighborhoods gets into the Halloween spirit this weekend with the return of the Old Louisville Victorian Ghost Walk. Costumed guides and storytellers aim to entertain participants with ghostly tales of the neighborhood’s most haunted historic residences.
“Ghost stories are truly a part of the culture here in Old Louisville,” says Councilman David James of the Sixth District. “Fun events like the Ghost Walk help display what makes Old Louisville a unique and interesting place to live and visit.”
The Old Louisville Victorian Ghost Walk gets under on Friday, October 28th and runs every night through Halloween on Monday, October 31st. The tours depart every 15 minutes from Central Park between 7:00pm and 9:00pm.
“Although the Victorian Ghost Walk only runs a few nights a year, weekly ghost tours are offered year round from our Visitors Center in Old Louisville,” says James, who volunteered to guide the tours on Halloween night, Monday, October 31st. “I encourage anyone interested to come out and enjoy learning about one of America’s most haunted neighborhoods.”
The Ghost Walk is sponsored by the West St. Catherine Street Neighborhood Association and the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council. Tickets cost $25 or $20 in advance. All money raised will go to the upkeep, restoration and promotion of the Old Louisville Neighborhood.
