District 1 residents, civic groups and churches are expected to roll up their sleeves and get to work for Brightside’s Spring Clean Up this Saturday, March 29th.

“I am delighted so many want to be a part of this event,” says Councilwoman Judith Green (D) 1. “People from all over the district are taking pride in their neighborhoods and communities.”

This year, the Russell Community Garden Club organized by Ms. Lucille Leggett will lead 40 volunteers. They will meet at 8:30am at 536 South 22nd Street.

“We appreciate the people who are not only organizing the effort but are coming out to help us in the District,” says Green. “Young and old will be helping, along with churches and neighborhood watch groups. It will be a great day for the district and Metro Louisville.”

Brightside will assist with bags and t-shirts for the event. Councilwoman Green will provide pre-cleanup snacks at Crums Lane Elementary School, 3212 South Crums Lane. Then after the cleanup snacks will be provided at Flaget Community Center, 4425 Greenwood Avenue.
