The Highlands is once again planning a special holiday event to showcase the season and brings back the feel of an old fashion yuletide with the Bardstown Aglow 2007.
“There are many places in the Metro area that celebrate this time of year,” says Councilman Tom Owen (D) 8. “But if you have never experienced it, I would encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the Bardstown Road Aglow.”
The event will kick off its 22nd year on Saturday, December 1st from dusk until 10:00pm.
From Taylorsville Road to Lexington Avenue, merchants and businesses will be decorating for the season. Wreaths, lights and music will fill the streets,
“Many of us remember when we could walk store to store in our neighborhoods with our families and friend and think about those things that make this time of year so special,” says Owen. “The Highlands Commerce Guild is to be commended for keeping such a tradition alive.”
Bardstown Road Aglow will feature musicians, singers and bagpipes as part of the holiday fun. Two trolleys filled with Santa’s elves will ride up and down the Bardstown Road Corridor for those who want to see the sights of the Holiday Decorating Competition.
Santa will be back and if you get a picture taken with him at Bearno’s Highlands Winter Wonderland it will benefit the Baptist Hospital “Buddies for Life” Foundation.
