David Tandy Elected District Four Councilman

The Louisville Metro Council tonight elected David Tandy to fill the Fourth District council seat. The election came at a special meeting held at 5 p.m. at City Hall. Tandy, a Democrat, was elected on a 14-11 vote.
Tandy replaces Willie B. Bright who passed away March 19th after a bout with cancer.
Councilman Tandy serves as the government relations director for the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, Inc. and is principal attorney with Tandy & Associates. His community involvement includes serving as a board member of the Louisville Branch NAACP Executive Committee; Kentucky YMCA-Youth Association, Inc.; and a former board member on the Louisville Metro Police Merit Review Board and Louisville Metro Parks Advisory Commission. He also served as the first President of the Louisville Urban League Young Professionals Organization.
District 4 includes the Central Business District, and the neighborhoods of Butchertown, California, Germantown, Meriwether, Phoenix Hill, Portland, Russell, Schnitzelburg, Shelby Park and Smoketown.
Councilman Tandy and his wife, Carolyn Whitaker-Tandy, have one daughter, Kennedy .
