In an effort to remind the community of the need for unity and togetherness, Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) and Christopher 2X are holding a Reflection Ceremony in partnership with “Connected Voices” on Father’s Day.
“In these past few weeks, our community has been reminded of the need to understand our differences and our temperament,” says Scott. “We need a moment to step back and reflect on how we handle conflict and difficult situations.”
The Reflection Ceremony will be held in the 1000 Block of 32nd Street at 4:00pm on Sunday, June 17th. The community event will take place one month to the day after violence in the same area.
“Our whole community needs healing and this will be the first time that there will be a community-wide reflection ceremony focused on how we move forward in service,” said Christopher 2X.
As part of the Father’s Day reflections, several young fathers from the Parkland neighborhood will speak about their commitment to community service and being good role models for their children.
