Louisville Metro Council will field a team of 11 players in the 2nd
annual charity basketball game against the St. Gabriel Men’s Club. The game, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. on January 19th
at St. Gabriel (5505 Bardstown Road) will raise funds for the Fern Creek/Highview United Ministries (FCUM) Capital Building Fund.
In 2007, team Metro Council, led by team captain Robin Engel (Councilman for District 22) thwarted the efforts of the more experienced St. Gabriel team on their own floor. The game raised $5,000 towards the construction of a new building for FCUM.
This Year, Engel returns with fellow Councilmen Kevin Kramer (District 11), James Peden (District 23), David Tandy (District 4), Rick Blackwell (District 12) and six employees of Metro Government as they seek to raise the trophy once again.
For more information on this event please contact: Tim McGinty (Athletic Director for St. Gabriel) at 231-4678. For more information on the Fern Creek/Highview United Ministries and their capital building fund please visit www.fchum.org.
