Louisville, KY - Lieutenant Colonel Philip Turner of the Louisville Metro Police Department along with US Marshal Rich Knighten today released details on a felony warrant sweep. The sweep, which was held throughout Metro Louisville, ran for four days beginning on Tuesday, February 27 and concluded on Friday, March 2, 2007.

Working together, LMPD, the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms formed five multi-departmental teams targeting subjects with felony warrants. Special emphasis was placed on those who were considered to be violent and/or narcotic offenders, those with mutliple warrants and those wanted for probation / parole violations.

Final results for the warrant detail include the following:

  •     30 total arrests
  •     70 warrants served / cleared
  •     9 fresh charges
  •     1 firearm seized
  •     76.7 grams of marijuana seized

One of the more significant arrests included that of Bradley Paul Blymer. Blymer is wanted for murder in North Carolina and was arrested without incident by members of the warrant detail. He is currently being housed in Metro Corrections awaiting extradition. Also housed in Metro Corrections and awaiting extradition is Jeffrey Allen Walker. He was arrested on a tip from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was found to be in possession of 560 pounds of marijuana.

"These were some of the most wanted felons in our area," said LTC Turner. "This initiative presented us with the opportunity to arrest multiple offenders with outstanding felony warrants and help make our community safer."
