Louisville pure tap Wins Taste Test Challenge Again
Tuesday July 10, 2012
The Kentucky-Tennessee section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) has named Louisville Water's pure tap® as the "Best Tasting Tap Water" in the two states. Louisville Water captured the honor in a taste test competition during the section's annual conference in Memphis.
A panel of judges chose Louisville pure tap® over samples from cities across Kentucky and Tennessee.
It’s the third time in five years Louisville Water has won the award; the city's drinking water was also named the “Best of the Best” at the 2008 AWWA Annual Conference & Exhibition (ACE) beating other AWWA Section winners for the national title.
Louisville Water will compete in the 2013 AWWA ACE for another national title.
“This award is a source of pride for our employees who work to provide outstanding quality every day,” said Greg Heitzman, President and CEO of Louisville Water. “We often get comments on the taste of our water; this award is more proof of just how good the water is in Louisville.”
Louisville Water calls its product “Louisville pure tap®” to promote the quality, convenience and value of tap water. For just a penny, you can fill an eight-ounce glass 66 times at fountains and faucets all over Louisville Metro.
