October is “Golftober” at Metro Parks Courses With Family Golfing Package

Friday October 7, 2011

Temperatures are cooling off and our urban canopy has begun to turn to lovely shades of red and orange indicating fall has arrived. This can only mean one thing at Metro Parks… Golftober is here! During every weekend of October Metro Parks offers an affordable family golfing package at each of its nine golf courses. For only $20, a family of up to four members can play 9 holes at any Metro Parks course. The $20 includes greens and carts fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during October.

“This promotion makes golfing affordable for the whole family,” said Marty Storch, assistant director of Metro Parks. “And there is no better place to enjoy fall and family than at one of our great public golf courses.”

The golf special is available on the weekends of Oct. 7-9; Oct. 14-16; Oct. 21-23 and Oct. 28-30.

About Metro Parks golf courses:

Metro Parks golf courses are open from daylight to dark seven days a week, and each course has a fully stocked pro shop. Private lessons are available from a PGA Professional at each clubhouse. Metro Parks operates 9-hole golf courses in Cherokee Park and Crescent Hill Park, along with Waverly Park’s Bobby Nichols Golf Course. There are 18-hole courses in Iroquois Park, Long Run Park, Seneca Park, Shawnee Park, Sun Valley Park and Charlie Vettiner Park.
