Public Health and Wellness to Offer Free Diabetes Classes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (October 20, 2008) Individuals interested in learning about and managing diabetes are invited to attend two free classes being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness. Classes begin Saturday, November 1 at the Department of Public Health and Wellness, 400 E. Gray Street. There is free parking for the classes.

Classes are free and attendance at both classes is encouraged. Both classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Phone 574-6663 for reservations or for more information. Class size is limited so please call to make a reservation. The class schedule is as follows:

The Department of Public Health and Wellness also has a free support group for people with diabetes and their families or caretakers. The group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Park DuValle Community Health Center at 3015 Wilson Avenue. November’s topic will be “Healthy Holiday Eating.” Phone 574-6663 for more information.
