When the residents of Elliot Park Apartments get ready to kick off their fall clean up campaign, they will have a little extra help from the woman who represents them on the Metro Council.
“I think it’s important to let people know we appreciate what they do for our community,” says Councilwoman Judith Green (D) 1. “I plan to reward the volunteers with lunch and then listen to anything they may have on their minds.”
The clean up is in conjunction with Brightside’s Fall Clean Up Campaign and then Green will host the first of what she calls “Lunch, Learn and Chat “in District 1 on Saturday, October 27th.
“For the residents of the Elliot Park Apartments, we will have a barbeque lunch and then Humana has agreed to send out a representative to explain Medicare changes for 2008,” says Green. “Then I will be on hand to listen and answer any questions the residents have about Metro Government or a concern in the district.”
“Lunch Learn and Chat” will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm in the Community Room of the Elliot Park Apartments, 650 South 29th Street.
