Louisville – Many might think marathons are something that’s done in the spring, summer and fall. But, a February running tradition is coming to the Jefferson Memorial Forest.
“I think it is great that Metro Parks and the Cherokee Road Runners like the forest,” says Councilwoman Vicki Welch (D) 13.
On Saturday, February 17th, the Fourth Annual “Louisville’s Lovin’ the Hills” a 50K trail run and second annual 15 mile run/hike will get underway.
“It is great that we can showcase the Jefferson Memorial Forest and how Metro Parks has made it such a wonderful place for runners, hikers and walkers,” says Welch.
The Cherokee Road Runners is a club which promotes running and walking in the Louisville area for good health and fun.
“The Cherokee Road Runners should be applauded for their efforts to promote good health and I am glad they have chosen the Jefferson Memorial Forest as good place to showcase their efforts,” says Welch.
The two races begin at 8:00 am at the Forest’s Horine Conference Center located at 12304 Holsclaw Hill Road.
