Louisville – For almost a decade, one local couple has turned Halloween into a fun and safe place for children in District 1. On Saturday, October 26th Alonzo and Georgette Kidwell, Owners of Kidwell Auto beautification, will host their 10th Annual Halloween Bash from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at 3535 Hale Avenue.
"I appreciate businesses like Kidwell Auto Beautification that find ways to give back to our community by supporting safe activities for kids," says Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1). "Every young person, in every life situation, should know the joys of a fun and happy childhood."
The Kidwell Halloween Bash will offer a wide range of activities including face painting, games and a prize wheel, bouncy house, hay field where ghost stories will be told while munching on marshmallow treats, ending with the main event, a trek through the haunted house.
Food and drinks will be provided and each child will leave with a stuffed trick-or-treat bag of goodies.
Several groups will join in the fun. Louisville Metro Police, Louisville Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will showcase their vehicles to kids in an effort to break down barriers between youth and with law enforcement.
Kidwell Halloween Bash is the brain child of co-owner Georgette Kidwell. The mother of three children, she has a huge heart for young people. Her ultimate goal with each year is to provide children a fun and safe place to celebrate Halloween.
The Kidwell's engage Louisville and Indiana area dealerships that they do business with along with the local business community to donate money and or candy for the event. Each year the response is overwhelming.
"I applaud our public servants who take the time to build relationships with folks in neighborhoods by being present and available at community functions," says Scott. “It is a wonderful message to send to children.”
