President Jim King (D-10) has taken steps to assure the residents of District 1 they will be represented in Metro Government. The President has made sure the office is maintained with staff and available to constituents as the Metro Council begins the process to select a new council person.

“I will be working with our staff to review any District 1 spending that needs to move forward,” says King.

Residents will still be able to call the District 1 office if they need assistance or need to report a problem of concern as they have in the past.. The office will continue to operate in regular business hours and President King will address those concerns.

“I will ask the chairs of all our committees to let me know if there are any ordinances that affect District 1 that are currently under consideration. I will personally make sure the District does not suffer from a lack of representation,” said King.

The situation arose when the Metro Council Court voted to remove Judy Green from office on Tuesday, September 14th.

The Metro Council has 30 days to select a replacement for Green. The selection process will begin when the District 1 office is officially declared vacant on Thursday, September 22nd.

The President will make himself available for any District 1 group seeking to meet with him.
