Councilman Dan Johnson (D-21) is sending out the word to residents of District 21 that his annual Town Hall Meeting will be Monday, October 12 at 6:00 PM at the Beechmont Community Center.
“We have many things going on in this District that I would like for everyone to know about,” says Johnson. “I especially want to people to come out and get a progress report on the new firehouse for the Beechmont area.”
Chief Greg Fredrick of Louisville Fire and Rescue will be one of the many Metro Government officials who will attend the meeting. Recently, it was announced that over $3 million of federal stimulus money has been designated to get a state of the Art Station built on Ashland Avenue.
“This new fire house has been a public safety priority of mine for many years,” says Johnson. “We want to make sure the community knows how it is moving forward.”
Other areas of Metro Government have been invited to attend including Louisville Metro Police, Metro Parks, Public Works, IPL and MSD.
“There are other issues we have been keeping an eye on as well including the recent flooding,” says Johnson. “This is a good opportunity to learn more about the backflow program of MSD to help homeowners minimize flooding.”
