It is a program which has helped young people in Louisville Metro find summer jobs and become productive members of the local workforce.
Once again, Project One Inc will kick off what hopes to be a successful summer season on Saturday, April 17th with Summer Job Orientation at 2600 West Broadway.
“I am honored to once again help Project One as it helps our most valuable resources, our young people, “ says Councilwoman Judith Green (D-1). “In its 25 year history, Project One has placed more than 10,000 youth in jobs to help them and their families and ultimately our community.”
The orientation will be from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Project One provides educational and employment opportunities for teens 13-15 and 16-24 in the community during the Summer months. The goal of the program is to connect local employers with young people who need jobs.
“We are still in a very tight economy,” says Green. “The job market is very competitive everywhere but I want to encourage local employers to help us. The investment that we make in young people will pay dividends in the years to come when they become our future leaders and citizens.”
Green will be a guest speaker at the Orientation kick off.
