Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9) invites the community to come out for a special summer event when the 5th Annual Crescent Hill Outdoor Cinema Series returns to the Peterson-Dumesnil House this Friday, July 10th.
“This is a great event for the family or anyone who enjoys a good classic movie,” says Ward-Pugh. “This week’s movie is a special one because we are encouraging everyone who can to bike in.”
The film is the 1979 coming of age classic “Breaking Away” with Dennis Christopher and Dennis Quaid. It centers on a group of friends and a teenager who dreams of being a competitive cyclist. The Humphrey Bogart classic “Casablanca” will conclude the series on August 1st.
The Crescent Hill Outdoor Cinema Series is sponsored by the Crescent Hill Community Council and free to the public. Ward-Pugh is a primary sponsor along with Heine Brothers, the Frankfort Avenue Business Association - F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop Wild and Woolly Video, the Peterson-Dumesnil House and Taste Fine Wines and Spirits.
“Just bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy a nice summer evening under the stars,” says Ward-Pugh.
Those who ride a bike to the event will get a free bag of popcorn to enjoy with the movie which will begin at 8:00pm. The Peterson-Dunesnil House is located at 301 South Peterson Avenue.
