Councilwoman Shanklin invites everyone to “Light Up Newburg” Saturday, December 1st

Like many areas around Metro Louisville, Newburg will officially join the holiday celebrations with “Light Up Newburg” on Saturday, December 1st.

“I want to invite everyone in the area to come out and have some fun this holiday season,” says Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D) 2. “We have a fun time every year and this is a great way to join other areas of our community in welcoming the joy of this special season.”

“Light Up Newburg” will get underway at 6:00pm at Petersburg Park on Saturday, December 1st. Petersburg Park is located at the corner of Indian Trail and Petersburg Road.

Food and light refreshments will be provided and Santa & Mrs. Claus will be on hand to distribute gifts to children in the area. Before the night is over, four bicycles will be given away along with other fun games.

“We may ask everyone to join us in singing a carol or two before the night is over,” says Shanklin. “We want everyone to enjoy themselves.”
