Metro Parks Prepares for Camping Season

Tuesday September 11, 2012

As fall nears and temperatures begin to cool off, camping season is in full swing at the Jefferson Memorial Forest.

Minutes away from Metro Louisville, the Forest offers a convenient yet remote tent camping experience. Located within the Horine Reservation, the campground is adjacent to the Forest’s trail system and can accommodate both families and groups.

Rates

  • Family sites - $15 per night
  • Group sites - $30 per night
  • 20 sticks of firewood - $10 (50% OFF Sunday – Wednesday)

*Note- Due to the fast-spreading Emerald Ash Borer, bringing wood into the forest is prohibited.

All sites have picnic tables, a fire ring, lantern post, and parking available. Overflow parking is available. Small family sites have shared water and shared port-o-pots between all family sites. Group site amenities vary, so please visit the Jefferson Memorial Forest website.
