Councilwoman Hamilton encourages Portland to learn about new firehouse

The design of a new firehouse for the Portland area will be available for public review on Tuesday, April 1st.
“The people of Portland will have the chance to see what the designers have planned,” says Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D) 5. “They will also have a chance to ask about the timetable involved for getting the new firehouse on line.”
The meeting will take place at Neighborhood House, 201 N. 25th Street beginning at 6:30pm.
The Clifton, Portland, Beechmont neighborhoods where $4 million has been set aside to build new state of the art firehouses. The money is from the sale of $41.5 million in bonds approved by the Metro Council on March 13th.
“Public safety is an important issue for our neighborhoods,” says Hamilton. “Portland has a strong bond with Louisville Fire and rescue and that is why this meeting is an important one.”
