Councilwoman Flood announces the 2010 Okolona Farmers Market

The Okolona Farmers Market is selling local goodies this June at Southern High School.
“I am pleased to be a sponsor of the Okolona Farmers Market to help our local growers,” says Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D-24). “We are seeing continued support for Farmer’s Markets all over Metro Louisville and ours is one of the best.”
Flood is partnering with the Okolona Park Neighborhood Association to sponsor the Okolona Farmers Market this year. It will operate on Tuesdays from 4:00pm to 7:00pm during the month of June. Among the featured items this afternoon: honey, preserves, jellies, bread, strawberries, potatoes, snap peas, onions and organic meats
The Okolona Fire Department will also be on hand this afternoon with a fire truck display and information about fire prevention.
Highlights for the rest of the month of June at the Okolona Farmers Market:
June 15—Curves will be doing Body Fat Analysis. The Market will begin accepting
recipes for the OPNA Farmers Market Cookbook.
June 22—Okolona Softball will be featured.
June 27—The Memphis Red Hots are back! Local Arts and Crafts will be featured.
“If you like fresh fruits and vegetable and enjoy meeting friends and neighbors, then we will see you at the market,” says Flood.
