Louisville, KY – Councilmen Stuart Benson (District 20) and Robin Engel (District 22) will work with the Floyds Fork Environmental Association, Canoe Kentucky, Brightside, Metro Solid Waste Management, and the Louisville Water Company to sponsor the 2006 Floyds Fork Creek Sweep. The Creek Sweep will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with registration starting 8:30 a.m. at Floyd’s Fork Park (located at Old Taylorsville and South Pope Lick Road).

Trash bags and other items will be distributed to persons participating in the Creek Sweep. All participants are encouraged to bring boots, gloves and wear durable clothing to the event. Although canoes, life jackets and paddles will be provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own canoe and safety equipment to ensure we have enough room for everyone.
