Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D-3) will host Youth Alive and the St. George Community Center on Friday, August 8th for the annual Back 2 School Bash 2008. The day will begin with a clean up of Algonquin Park at 9:00am.
“This community has always embraced youth and to continue that tradition we show our appreciation to them for having shown interest in keeping this community beautiful,” says Woolridge.
The two groups will focus their attention on cleaning up Algonquin Park. In addition to the community service there will be fun and games along with arts & crafts. Lunch will be served and Woolridge, the St. George Community Center and Youth Alive have partnered to reward program participants with back to school supplies.
Some 100 young people are expected to help with the clean up and participate in the day’s activities
“Both of these programs have become very important to the people of District 3 as away to reach out to young people,” says Woolridge. “My office has worked with both programs over the years and I look forward to future endeavors that will help young people make a difference in their lives and the community a better place to live.”
