Corrections Director Resigns, Secretary Allen To Serve in Interim

Louisville Metro Corrections Director George DeTella resigned effective today to return to his family in Illinois.
Public Protection Secretary Kim Allen will serve as interim director until Mayor Jerry Abramson selects a full-time replacement.
The department’s deputy directors will oversee day-to-day operations at Corrections.
“We have a strong team of professional corrections managers and employees who will ensure that we continue to operate the jail in a responsible, effective manner for both citizens and inmates,” Allen said.
