On Monday morning, residents along Blevins Gap Road and Medora Road in Southwest Jefferson awoke to the unwanted sight of garbage and trash dumped along the road.
“They found trash on both sides of the road as well as a mattress and old furniture,” says Councilman Bob Henderson (D) 14. “We want the public’s help in finding who may have done this so we can prosecute the person responsible.”
The trash was found in the 5900 block of Blevins Gap to Medora. Henderson says crews from Metro Solid Waste Management will soon be out cleaning up the area.
“We have worked very hard to clean many places in the Southwest part of the county,” says Henderson. “Did whoever did think they might get away with it. That will not be the case.”
Henderson says there is a penalty of up to $5,000 for any person convicted of illegal dumping in Metro Louisville.
“If someone may have seen something, I hope they will call the authorities so we can make sure whoever did this will be punished for it,” says Henderson.
If you have any information about the illegal dumping on Blevins Gap Road and Medora, they can call Metro Call at 311 or Metro Solid Waste Management at 574-5000.
