Metro Parks Hosting Public Meeting on Olmsted Parkways Plan - March 6th
Wednesday February 15, 2012
Metro Parks will host a public meeting on Tuesday, March 6, to reintroduce and describe the Olmsted Parkways Shared Use Path plan, a bicycle/pedestrian improvement project. The meeting will take place from 6:00 to 8:30pm at the South Louisville Community Center, 2911 Taylor Boulevard.
The Olmsted Parkways master plan was completed in January 2008, developed with citizen input gained from seven public meetings held throughout 2007, and outlines alternatives for bicycle and pedestrian improvements for the parkways.
Metro Parks is now beginning the Phase 1 Design component of the project, which includes all of Southern Parkway, all of Algonquin Parkway, and Southwestern Parkway from Gibson Lane to Broadway.
The meeting will begin with an open house at 6:00pm. The presentation of the plan begins at 7:00pm, followed by a question and answer period. About Louisville’s Olmsted Parkways plan:
