Louisville – Once again, the VITA program is offering free tax assistance for individuals and families earning $52,000 or less throughout Metro Louisville.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is gearing up for another successful tax season and, as always, they are in need of volunteers to help. A volunteer kickoff and training session is set for Saturday, December 14th at the Sun Valley Community Center beginning at 10:00am.
“There are many wonderful people who have volunteered with this program over the years. I have been a VITA volunteer for over seven years and encourage you to step up and join the VITA Team,” says Councilwoman Cindi Fowler (D-14). “Please come by for a bowl of soup and an information session on Saturday. It is yet another way to give back to the community.”
The VITA program is available to households that make at or less than $52,000 a year. Volunteers help by greeting, interviewing and preparing taxes.
“The program has assisted thousands over the years and has returned millions back to our local economy,” says Fowler.
The Sun Valley Community Center is located at 6505 Bethany Lane.
