Louisville, KY – Metro Councilman Doug Hawkins (District 25) will be holding a press conference on Thursday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. in a field located at 6501 Hackel Drive. This location was chosen because there are 29 registered sex offenders living in adjacent apartments.
Councilman Hawkins will encourage parents to know where the potential for danger exist within their neighborhood, by avoiding the homes of residents who are registered as a sex offender.
“There are several searchable databases that will give the address of a registered sex offender,” said Councilman Hawkins. “Taking a few minutes to check for offenders within your neighborhood may help protect your child. Parents need to know whose house their children are walking past.”
