Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) and 250 volunteers will make Tuesday, October 16th a very special day for the Parkland Boys and Girls Club. She and the volunteers will build a needed playground for the Club.

“With the help of KaBoom and Humana, we will build a place for children to have fun,” says Scott, who also serves as Community Engagement Chair for the Parkland playground build day. “This is a great community project and I am proud that as many as 250 volunteers will be on hand to make this happen.”

KaBoom has already had several design meetings with children and adults as to what the playground should look like and what kind of equipment should be available for play. The volunteers joining Scott are from local businesses, schools, churches, community groups and neighbors.

“This is going to be a fun day with food for volunteers, activities for little kids,

Zuumba to get us energized and music to keep us motivated,” says Scott. “This playground will be one of the community’s ways of showing its support for the good work to come from the Parkland Boys and Girls Club.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 4:00pm when the playground work is completed.

For more information about the event, contact Councilwoman Scott’s office at 574-1101.
