Councilman Tandy to help launch new “Boom Magazine” on Friday

Louisville – A new magazine will soon hit the streets and it will attempt to let its readers know just how downtown Louisville is transforming itself into a new urban center of activity.
"I am very excited about the launch of Boom Magazine,” says Councilman David Tandy (D) 4. “Day after day we can see that we are making real progress in our goal of transforming our city from being a place that some people visit on occasion into a destination for people from around the world.”
Tandy will join Congressman John Yarmuth on Friday, January 26 to help push the launch button for the magazine between12:00pm to 2:00pm in the main lobby of the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
Boom Magazine is a four color magazine that will be feature downtown promotional agencies including the Downtown Development Corporation, Downtown Management District, Greater Louisville Inc and the Waterfront Development Corporation.
Tandy represents the downtown area and with assistance from the Metro Council have supported the efforts of building a new arena and the Museum Plaza.
The kickoff will feature music and entertainment.
The event will highlight the urban flavor of the magazine while zeroing in on specific project sand events that make downtown unique.
“With a publication like Boom Magazine coming onto the literary scene, soon more and more people will know what great things are happening in the heart of this great city," says Tandy.
